The Bandhas are the deep heart of yoga posture practice. They have their place in any approach to yoga posture practice, as its key and its power. At the heart of their power is the subtle dynamic of effortless effort in the whole body.
Course details:
This 6 day, 23hr, online immersion will teach you how to activate the bandhas in the whole of your body (sarvangabandha). To not only recalibrate the body towards its inherent integrity, but also to release the subtle power of the breath (ujjayisvara). You will learn to activate the bandhas from the periphery (hastabandha, padabandha) to the core (mulabandha, uddyanabandha, jalandharabandha, merubandha).
This learning will take place in (movement) practice and will establish the necessary neuromuscular pathways to integrate your whole body in action. This does not depend on strength, flexibility nor agility. It only depends on sensitivity to the sensations being generated by the intelligence of your body. As you learn to respond to the intelligence of your body it will naturally establish the neuromuscular pathways that underlie and express the bandhas.

Taught by Godfrey Devereux:
Godfrey is one of the initiators of the Yoga Renaissance that began in the 1990s. The yoga program he created at the Life Centre in London, and his ground breaking book ‘Dynamic Yoga’ steered yoga from the cultural margins towards the irresistible phenomenon it is today. Author of many more books, not only on yoga, his influence within and beyond the world of yoga is incalculable.

His potent and accessible methodologies of somatic transformation, including 'The Dynamic Yoga Training Method', ’Slow Tantra’, ’Somatic Meditation’, and 'Somatic Resilience Training', have enriched the lives of thousands of practitioners and hundreds of teachers. As a master teacher his effectiveness depends directly on his ability to share his embodied experience of body, mind and Consciousness.
