Consciousness is not passive. It not only generates awareness and experience, it also generates empathy, compassion, generosity, appreciation, gratitude and love. All of these qualities can be accessed by becoming intimate with your own presence. All of these qualities can be embodied by becoming intimate with your shadows, as they emerge perhaps within the spaciousness of the meditative mind.

As these pathways stabilise through practice they allow the qualities of Consciousness to participate more directly and fully in your life.
