YOGA AND MEDITATION
INTO YOUR PLEASURE NATURE
There may be more to yoga and meditation than you realise. Yes, they can be used to escape from the trials and tribulations of life, for a while, perhaps. More fruitfully they can be used in combination to transform your ongoing experience of life completely. This transformation is possible because of the plasticity of your nervous system. As it is you may be habituated to defensive and restricting habits of perception and reaction encoded in your nervous system. This does not have to remain the case. You can use yoga and meditation to completely recalibrate your sensory-motor nerves. When this recalibration is based on sensitivity and guided by pleasure they can bring to you to a deep and stable resilience based on your pleasure nature. No longer having to seek pleasure and satisfaction from external, unreliable sources, you will have unrestricted access to an inexhaustible source of nourishing, fortifying pleasure. This can bring you deep satisfaction and freedom invulnerable to circumstance.
There is much more to your body than you may realise. More than a remarkable biological structure, it is your most inviting and potent spiritual doorway. While your mind speaks to you of distinctions, differences and divisions, your body is a singular fractal of pleasures, the essence of which is pure bliss. It is into this, your Body of Bliss, that your sense of isolated separateness dissolves when you surrender deeply enough into the richness of your own Presence. Free from the restrictions of space and time your Body of Bliss is the spiritual heart of your nature. It is an inexhaustible source of pleasure, joy, peace and love. To embody it into your life you need only establish stable pathways of pleasure from your body.
This retreat will immerse you in your pleasure nature by way of your body just as it is. We will use delicious, rhythmic movements and sustained, accessible stillness to open pathways of pleasure from your physical body to your Body of Bliss. After basking deliciously in the pleasures of movement and breathing you will be taken deep into your pleasure nature in guided meditations, which will deepen your pathways of pleasure. Finally these pathways will be stabilised by passive tantric meditations within which the bliss that you are will be mirrored and amplified in the Presence of 'others'. Then the pathways you have opened from your physical body to your subtle body will become available in your daily life. Learning how to embody your blissful nature requires only curiosity, a willingness to feel and to practice. It does not depend on age, experience, flexibility, agility, strength or stamina.
No previous experience is necessary. However if you have previous experience of meditation, yoga or tantra, this retreat is likely to deepen your journey into more subtle layers of experiencing yourself and others.
